Our home design team at Hunters recently completed a project to give a cosy and contemporary feel to a luxury four-bedroom ski apartment at the Lets Gets resort in the French Alps.
The client approached us to fully furnish the penthouse apartment so they could enjoy time with the family over Christmas. The main things they wanted us to focus on were to create a luxurious and elegant home that was in keeping with the surroundings and it had to be practical for the whole family to enjoy.
The first thing that we needed to do was to design the open plan living, dining, and kitchen areas, working from architectural plans and photos that provided us with the essential details that we needed. This included understanding the way the natural light enters the spaces along with finding those cosy corners that would help to make this chalet feel like a home from home.
By using sample boards and selecting furniture and accessories from our showroom, we were able to get the exact balance of elegance and practicality. We loved working on this home design project that combined cosy comfort with style including the deep, luxurious corner sofa right down to the 400-thread count bed sheets and hand-glazed crockery.
The design team presented their ideas and mood and layout boards to the client, which included every detail including rugs, bed linen, towels, and crockery, so the client could arrive at the apartment and settle into their holiday home straight away.
We arranged transportation with family courier company Briton's Removals to ensure everything was safely delivered from our showroom to France, this also included all customs paperwork that was needed for a smooth journey.
Olivia and Nina from our design team, flew out to make sure everything was in place, met the courier team on site and then they unpacked and styled the apartment ready for the owners to enjoy.
Our clients arrived in France to a fully furnished apartment, when they last visited the apartment it was just an empty shell. They commented; "We are absolutely delighted with the entire team at Hunters who helped us fully design and furnish from scratch a four-bedroom penthouse apartment in Les Gets, France. They thought of everything and our family are looking forward to spending Christmas and the New Year in this amazingly beautiful, comfortable, and stylish apartment."
Owner of Hunters and Design Director Nina Sheard is over the moon with how seamlessly the project ran and the exceptional finished design. “We loved working with the clients who were very open to our ideas, and although much of the design work was done remotely, the project went without a hitch. Taking a step back and looking at how the colour scheme compliments the beautiful surroundings of the snow-capped mountains, the natural materials we used including 100% wool rugs and 100% cotton linen really helped to bring the whole apartment together.
Our design team can work with any home design project anywhere and overseas is no barrier at all for us. We look forward to hearing how the client enjoyed spending Christmas in their new apartment.”
